Metsulfuron methyl is absorbed into the plant by wheat seedlings, then transformed by enzymes in the plant and degraded rapidly, so the wheat has greater tolerance to this product. The dosage of this agent is small, its solubility in water is large, and it can be adsorbed by soil. The degradation rate in soil is very slow, especially in alkaline soil. It can effectively prevent and control weeds such as Chamaecrista, Veronica, Fanzhou, Chaocai, shepherd's purse, broken shepherd's purse, Sophora annua, Chenopodium album, Polygonum hydropiper, Oryza rubra, and Arachis philoxeroides.

Special attention shall be paid to the accuracy of the dosage and the uniform spraying. The residue period of the drug is long, and it should not be used in sensitive crop fields such as corn, cotton, tobacco, etc. Seeding rape, cotton, soybean, cucumber, etc. in neutral soil wheat field after 120 days of drug application will cause drug damage, and the drug damage in alkaline soil is more serious. Therefore, it is limited to be used in wheat rice rotation wheat fields in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River basin in neutral or alkaline soil with pH<=7.
