It is mainly used in rice, soybean, peanut, wheat and other crops to control broad-leaved weeds and sedge weeds, but it is ineffective against gramineous weeds. Benedazone is absorbed by leaves (in paddy fields roots can also absorb it), then it penetrates and conducts into chloroplasts through leaves, and inhibits electron transfer in photosynthesis. The absorption and assimilation of dioxide were inhibited 2 hours after application. After 11 hours, all stops, leaves wilt and turn yellow, and finally die.
