Insecticide: action characteristics and control objects of indamcarb

Indoxacarb is an oxadiazine insecticide developed by DuPont in 1992 and marketed in 2001.
Indoxacarb
→ Scope of application:
It can be used for the prevention and control of most lepidopteran pests (details) on vegetables, fruit trees, melons, cotton, rice and other crops, such as diamondback moth, rice borer, cabbage caterpillar, borer, spodoptera litura, beet armyworm, cotton bollworm, leaf roller, moth moth, heart eater, leafhopper, beetle, red fire ant, and other health pests, such as mosquitoes and ants.
→ Product features:
It has stomach poisoning and contact killing effects, no internal absorption, but has good permeability. After contacting the plant leaf surface, the liquid medicine will adsorb on the leaf surface and penetrate into the mesophyll, and is resistant to rain wash. However, it should be used cautiously under high temperature. No mutual resistance with most insecticides.
→ Toxicity:
Indoxacarb is a low toxic insecticide, slightly toxic to mammals, birds, etc., safe to natural enemies and crops, highly toxic to fish and bees, and highly toxic to silkworm.
→ Action mechanism:
The mechanism of action of indamcarb is a sodium channel inhibitor, that is, by blocking the sodium ion in the nerve cells of the diamondback moth, the sodium ion can not pass through normally, so that its nervous system can not transmit information normally, stop feeding within 4 hours, causing the pest to be unable to move, irreversible or recovered, and die within 2 to 3 days. Therefore, the insecticide usually does not show cross resistance with other insecticides such as organophosphorus and pyrethroid, and it is active against pests of various ages, and has high safety against non target organisms, and will not have too much residue in crops.
→Test performance:
1. Using 0.05% indoxacarb ant-killing bait to spread 20~25g per nest of the invasive pest red imported fire ants has a good control effect;
2. The use of 15% indoxacarb EC 18mL per mu can prevent and control the tea cicada, which has the characteristics of quick effect, long-lasting effect and resistance to rain erosion;
3. The use of 0.05% indoxacarb ant-killing bait has a good control effect on the small yellow house ant;
4. The use of 30% indoxacarb water dispersible granules 6~9g per mu has excellent effect on controlling Plutella xylostella, and has good quick-acting and long-lasting effects;
5. Use 30% indoxacarb SC 15g per mu to target the rice leaf roller, and it is recommended to apply it at the peak hatching stage of the rice leaf roller;
6. Using 36% indoxacarb metaflumizone to suspend 4000~6000 times liquid has an excellent effect on Plutella xylostella, and also prevents aphids, which is safe for crop growth and has a long control time.
